   WELCOME TO THE CUPBOARD…

A tiny version of what began as The Cupboard Cafe in New Harbor Maine in 1995.  After running The Cafe for 30 wonderful years, we sold our log cabin in February of 2025 and moved on to slower, behind the scenes projects.

The Cupboard now, is all about cinnamon buns and sticky buns. “The Buns” were our most popular sweet treat at the Cafe for decades and we are happy to be able to continue to bake them for you both for local pick up and for out-of-state shipping. 

For anyone visiting us for the first time, we began as a family run restaurant, specializing in fresh handmade offerings. My parents, Fred and Claudia Hatch dreamed up this sweet little idea in 1995. We joined forces and had the most INCREDIBLE time. No two people worked harder and were more talented than Fred and Claudia. Their devotion to their business was constant and unwavering. They are both gone now, but the memories of them and our years together with our business, get sweeter and sweeter with the passing of time and with every bun we bake. Making sure that each bun lives up to their standards is the essence of everything we do. 

We can’t wait to connect with you! Whether you are an old friend or someone just discovering us, see you soon. 

THE BUNS ARE PRODUCED NOW ON A LIMITED SMALL BATCH, SMALL SCALE BASIS. ALWAYS FRESH AND ALWAYS HANDMADE.

Producing at Local Batch Kitchen, 127 Elm Street, Damariscotta, Me. LBK  is a rentable, commercial kitchen, maker space and classroom. Follow LBK on Instagram for information about their offerings. 

DETAILS FOR LOCAL PICK UP…..

•We send out an email a week or so before our next baking day. We ask you to call (phone call is the only method) and leave us a message on the voicemail telling us your name and number and what you are interested in purchasing. Join our email list here on this site. We call you back to confirm product availability and details for picking up. Products can sell out quickly during busy times.
